"These supplements worked so well for my dog. She has been clear of struvites for weeks now. This has been a constant issue for us for a long time and I am so relieved that my girl will not have to be uncomfortable anymore." Kathy C

1). Daily Multi Plus
This is the supplement that provides the enzymes and probiotics necessary for proper digestion and immune system health. It also provides organic, whole food nutrition to improve the overall health of your dog or cat.

How much should I give?
Provide 1/2 teaspoon in each meal per 30 lbs. Mix with water so it is not dry. Serving size does not have to be exact. Err on the side of more rather that less.

How long should I provide this supplement?
This supplement should be given with every meal for the life of your pet.

2). Antilithic
We have had tremendous success using this formula to dissolve urinary calculi of all types. The hydrangea root works to dissolve stones while the other herbs gently cleanse and soothe the urinary tract.

How much should I give?
Provide 1 ml per 25 lbs three times daily. Squirt directly into mouth by pulling out lower lip at corner of mouth. Do not tilt head back because your pet can breath some in. If this is difficult dosage can be placed in a small amount of special food or even main meals if necessary. It is best to give away from meals when possible. When your animal’s condition improves you may be able to reduce the frequency to two times daily. On the other hand if your animal does not respond as hoped increase the dosage by 50% three times daily.

How long should I provide this supplement?
Use daily until you are confident the situation has been resolved. Then it is beneficial to use one week per month after that to help keep your animal’s urinary tract free of calculi.

3). Kidney Tonic
This is a highly-researched herbal formula that supports both the heart and bladder/kidneys that are intimately connected. This supplement will help to increase the flow of oxygen and nutrient-rich blood that is so important to bladder and kidney health.

How long should I provide this supplement?
Use daily for one month then go on a 5 days on 2 days off schedule. Use this schedule for the life of your animal. If your animal shows a decline on off days you may have to give only one day off weekly or even use daily if necessary depending on your pet’s condition.

Other Recommendations

Whole Food Diet High in Moisture
Processed kibble pet foods are very dry, hard to digest and lack important nutrients for your dog or cat. We urge you to consider a raw food diet or home-prepared diet that will provide the nutrients and moisture your animal needs to keep their bladder and kidneys healthy. Since dehydration is a major contributing factor to the formation of bladder stones we can’t stress this enough.
We also want to address a common misconception to provide a low- protein diet with bladder or kidney issues. Low-protein diets will eventually lead to cardiomyopathy, lean muscle loss, joint issues and susceptibility to infection. Providing a low- protein diet, especially to younger animals, will be subjecting them to poor health in the future. The primary time a low-protein/phosphorous diet may be appropriate is during the final end phase of kidney failure. Read our articles on how to feed your dog or cat found in our Education section.

Biopreparation F3 Forte
This supplement is a highly researched blend of micro-algae that feeds cells on a cellular level. It crosses the digestive tract without the need for digestion and is able to cross the blood-brain barrier and retinal barrier. For these reasons it has an amazing ability to bring nutrients directly to bladder/kidney cells benefiting dogs with this condition tremendously.

How much should I give?
Select either the F2 Core or the F3 Forte (stronger/more concentrated) for this condition. Use the chart below for dosage for your size animal.

How long should I provide this supplement?
This supplement should be given for the life of your pet.

UTI Relief
This is a very beneficial formula against uropathogenic bacteria. It contains a highly researched blend of antimicrobial and immune supporting herbs. Use until an infection has been eliminated and then for one week per month after that to keep the urinary tract healthy. It is much easier to prevent urinary tract infections than to eliminate them, so this should be your goal. If you don’t prevent or catch the infection early enough and it becomes established antibiotics will often be needed, so this should be avoided.

Urine pH Test Strips
Changes in urine acidity/alkalinity (pH) can indicate the presence of urinary crystals and/or infection. It is very good practice to test your animal’s urine, usually first thing in the morning, to get an idea what their normal urine pH is. Then, when it changes from what is normal for your dog or cat you can catch issues early before they can become more of a problem. An increase in urine pH can indicate an infection and the possible presence of struvite crystals. Less commonly, more acidic urine can indicate the presence of urate stones.
