Our Bovine Cartilage for dogs and cats provides type II collagen as well as other important cartilage supporting nutrients like chondroitin sulfate. This supplement will help to support tissue called hyaline cartilage that is widespread in the body and found in areas such as the ends of bones in free-moving joints (called articular cartilage), at the ends of the ribs and forming a major structural component of the nose, larynx, trachea, and bronchi.
*Please note: Previously we had used an enzymatically processed trachea powder that resulted in a lighter color. We have switched to a 100% freeze-dried trachea powder that is not processed and is the true color (deeper brown) of a bovine trachea. We believe processing loses some of the components found in whole trachea and decided to switch to the whole tissue with all the rich natural compounds present. Trachea is largely comprised of hyaline cartilage and that is why we use it for our Bovine Cartilage supplement. This product is sourced from New Zealand, pasture-raised bovine.
