I would hold off on the antifungal as these are typically very strong medications. To get the yeasty ears under control we recommend: Systemic Enzymes to help control excess yeast in the body. These will be given twice daily on an empty stomach- first thing upon waking and last thing before bed. These will be needed for the life of your dog as they will keep the yeast in check and provide other health benefits to your dog. Sovereign Silver as you are using now to help gently disinfect the ear. Allergy Blend if you notice your dog's ears act up at certain times of year and can be related to seasonal allergies. Keys Metaclean Shampoo is a gentle, chemical-free shampoo to help cleanse yeast from the skin that can cause itching. Zymox ear drops: we do not sell these but here is a link to them on Amazon.
Clean ears daily with Sovereign Silver using cotton pads and swabs to get deeper into the ear. Follow up with Zymox .05% hydrocortisone. Do this for 7 days. After this period consider using our Topical Probiotic Spray on a cotton pad to help bring beneficial bacteria into the ears to out-compete any yeast. Lastly, commercial pet foods are typically high in carbohydrates that will feed yeast in the body that can overgrow and accumulate in the ear canal. Your dog could benefit from a healthy, whole food diet. This diet can be home-prepared, a premix to which you add your own meat or a commercially prepared whole food diet.
