We can’t advise that this product can be used as an alternative to a medication prescribed by your veterinarian. However, when a dog has trouble expressing her bladder the most common causes include a physical obstruction (like bladder stones or a tumor), severe muscle weakness, or a neurological issue that disrupts the nerve signals between the brain and the urinary tract. If you and your vet can determine which of these are causing your dog's urinary problem, then please get back to us and use our Pet Wellness Consultation Form so we have more information to better help you. When we had a dog with this issue, it was neurological in nature. We had to manually help express her bladder. Online, you can do a search to find a tutorial on how to do this yourself at home. But, don't manually express the bladder if your vet determines a blockage is the cause as this could hurt your dog.
