I suggest providing your cat with Chia Seed Oil to help lubricate the digestive tract. I also suggest our Daily Multi Plus to help your cat better digest his meals to help food more easily transit the digestive tract. I am glad to see that you are trying to feed your cat a wet diet as this is very important for a cat's long term health. Dehydration caused by dry pet foods can contribute to hairballs by slowing digestion and reducing the body's ability to pass swallowed hair. The unfortunate thing about freeze-dried foods is that they do not rehydrate well and often remain very dry inside even after sitting in water. For this reason we suggest using a food processor or blender to break up the food so it rehydrates better. Since it can be hard to get new supplements into a cat we provide an article called How to Get Your Cat to Take Their Supplements.
