I assume from your question that your dog's gums are irritated and sensitive to the touch. In this case, I would try the Sovereign Silver Spray to help reduce his gum inflammation. Next, try desensitizing your dog by gently touching his gums lightly just once and perhaps give him a treat. Slowly work up to where you can touch your dog's gums in more than one area and then slowly introduce the Gum Rescue onto your finger. I would also suggest adding in our Daily Oral Care supplement to bring beneficial bacteria into your dog's mouth to out-compete pathogenic bacteria that cause gum disease. Since commercial pet foods contain high amounts of starches that turn into sugar in the mouth and feed bad bacteria and yeast, your dog would benefit from a diet of real, whole foods.
