It sounds like your dog may have an ear bacterial or yeast infection. We recommend gently cleaning your dog’s ears with Sovereign Silver using a cotton pad and Q-tips to remove debris and act as a disinfectant. You can even add drops directly into the ears so the silver can reach where you can't. After cleaning, apply our Topical Probiotic Spray with a cotton pad to introduce beneficial bacteria, which helps naturally control harmful bacteria and yeast in the ears. The probiotic spray can irritate ears if there is broken skin that can occur due to constant scratching. Perform this ear protocol twice daily until better. Since yeast can cause itching and may spread from the ears to the rest of the body, we suggest using a gentle, natural shampoo to cleanse your dog’s coat thoroughly. Additionally, administering our Systemic Enzymes daily can support your dog’s body in managing yeast so it doesn’t continue to be a problem in the future. Please note, our remedies will take a few days to arrive. If your dog’s ear condition worsens or if there is severe discomfort, we recommend visiting your veterinarian promptly to ensure the infection does not progress. Finally, most commercial pet food diets are very high in carbohydrates that can feed yeast and for this reason we suggest a healthy, whole food diet for dogs and cats. We offer some suggestions in our article How to Feed Your Dog.
