There is some sodium and little calcium in cartilage. However, the serving size of our Bovine Cartilage supplement for dogs and cats is so small that it has an insignificant effect on the body's intake of these specific minerals. Cartilage is primarily composed of an extracellular matrix with collagen, proteoglycans and elastin fibers so it will be safe for your dog's heart.
