Why do you suggest adding 2 teaspoons per pound of prepared food, rather than just the meat portion.
Natural Bone Calcium
Isn't the bone/calcium intended to balance the phosphorus of the meat? I use 80% protein and 20% veggies in my recipes.

The serving size of the Natural Bone Calcium is a "general" serving recommendation to suit most homemade pet food diets. Generally, the veggie portion of a diet doesn't influence the serving suggestion and is taken into account. The ratio of calcium-phosphorus is an average and not an exact science so this serving recommendation suits most needs. If you wish to be more exact you can of course do some math and adjust the serving size to more accurately reflect your goals if you desire.
