Our Gum Rescue formula will help to improve the health of your cat's gums. However, there are two other concerns that should also be addressed. The first is to bring beneficial flora into the mouth to out-compete pathogenic oral bacteria that cause disease and this can be accomplished with our Daily Oral Care supplement. My next suggestion is to feed a healthy, whole food diet. Most commercial pet foods are very high in carbohydrates. These accumulate around teeth and build up as tartar that contributes to gum disease. It is very hard to keep a pet's teeth healthy while feeding a kibble pet food diet, especially without frequent dental cleanings. Raw food is the best way to feed most cats, with a cooked whole food diet or a meat-based (not fish) high-quality canned diet next best. Our article How to Feed Your Cat offers some suggestions.
