Our Elk Velvet Antler is third-party tested for microbiological and quality control components and must be within or below certain parameters before it is offered to the public. The elk herd operates under regional and national cervid health surveillance programs designed to monitor and control chronic wasting disease (CWD). Our Canadian supplier has never experienced a positive case of CWD in their herd. Just for public knowledge, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention maintains that CWD infection in humans has never been reported. The material used in our Bovine Cartilage supplement also goes through stringent testing:
- Samples from every manufactured batch undergo chemical and microbial screening via independent accredited facilities using published methods.
- Raw glands are sourced from vetted suppliers operating under validated Risk Management Programmes (RMPs) based on HACCP food safety principles.
- Livestock inspection occurs pre- and post-mortem under the supervision of the New Zealand Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI).
