I suggest using the Gum Rescue formula perhaps two hours or so away from (and after) brushing. Our Natural Tooth Powder is a healthy option for brushing a dog's teeth. Our Daily Oral Care helps to bring beneficial bacteria into a pet's mouth to out-compete pathogenic oral bacteria. I also like to remind people that dry, kibble pet foods are very bad for a dog and cat's teeth. This is because these foods are very high in carbohydrates that get stuck between teeth and feed bacteria that cause tartar and tooth decay. For this reason we suggest a healthy, whole food diet. This diet can be home-prepared, a premix to which you add your own meat or a commercially prepared whole food diet. We offer suggestions in our article How to Feed Your Dog. Natural chews (not the gimmicky dental chews) also help to clean teeth. We also provide an educational video on Oral Health in Dogs that may interest you.
