Is it safe for the bovine cartilage to be brown?
Bovine Cartilage for Dogs and Cats
I had opened the container and the cartilage is actually brown. My prior order it was an off white color. I never thought cartilage to be brown, is there a reason for the color difference and is it safe to give? Just seems odd to be the drastic color difference that it is.

We should have included a note about that with your order. Previously we had used an enzymatically processed trachea powder that resulted in a lighter color. We have switched to a 100% freeze-dried trachea powder that is not processed and is the true color of a bovine trachea. We believe processing loses some of the components found in whole trachea and decided to switch to the whole tissue with all the rich natural compounds present. Trachea is largely comprised of hyaline cartilage and that is why we use it for our Bovine Cartilage supplement. This product is sourced from New Zealand, pasture-raised bovine.
