Many toothpastes for dogs, including enzymatic toothpastes, use artificial sweeteners like sorbitol as well as flavorings like poultry digest. The ingredients in these toothpastes are unhealthy for our dogs and cats and that is why we avoid their use. However, our Natural Tooth Powder has a bland/neutral taste and we rarely get feedback that pet's don't like the taste. You can try a couple of things to make the experience more fun. Try placing a little peanut butter or coconut oil on your finger so your dog can lick it and get this taste in his mouth, Then use the tooth powder and see how this works. You can also go slowly and touch a small amount of tooth powder to your dog's gums and then treat. Do this for longer and longer periods of time until your dog associates the tooth powder with tasty treats. If these suggestions don't work you can email Kassandra at support@thephnc.com as she is our in house dog trainer.
