Our Constipation Relief will not make constipation worse in animals under normal circumstances. However, fiber can make constipation worse if you increase intake too quickly, do not drink enough water, or already suffer from severe constipation. Without adequate fluid, fiber can bulk up in your digestive tract and can create hard, dense stools. This is why we encourage users to mix our Constipation Relief with sufficient water. One of the main contributing factors to constipation is lack of hydration. If your dog or cat has an issue with constipation use our supplement and make sure to feed a wet diet - dry kibble or freeze-dried diets can make matters worse. Also, as I alluded to above, if your pet is already bound up, adding fiber can make things worse as well. Make sure your pet is moving their bowels before adding in a fiber supplement.
