Providing our Heart Glandular to your dog is very safe, and we feel it is always a good idea to act proactively instead of waiting for a diagnosis when damage is already evident. Feeding your small dog a healthy, whole food diet would also be easy and help to keep his cardiovascular system healthy as he ages. This diet can be home-prepared, a premix to which you add your own meat or a commercially prepared whole food diet. We offer suggestions in our article How to Feed Your Dog. Lastly, I like to mention that flea and tick pesticide products have been shown to negatively impact the heart over time and we believe this to be a contributing factor as to why so many animals have heart conditions which years ago was not as common a condition in dogs and cats.
