The two medications that you mentioned will not have any benefit for your dog's neuromuscular condition, so I suggest that you start back on our protocol to support your dog's nervous system and connected muscles. We provide an educational video on Laryngeal Paralysis in Dogs that helps you to better understand what is happening with your dog. The problem with the two medications that you mentioned is that side effects include lethargy and sedation, which I feel could potentially be a problem for a dog that is already debilitated. If they are working great, keep on using them. If not, I would rather have you consider our Anxiety Blend that could help with his anxiety without side effects along with a natural Cell Salt called Mag Phos #8 that can help support his nervous system and prevent spasms. I understand this is very difficult, however I feel that I should mention that you don't want to wait to have your dog suffer from a breathing crisis. This will be very traumatic for both you and your dog. If your dog is not responding to our protocol and is suffering anxiety and fear, then, like I mentioned before, you don't want to wait until the last minute and wind up in the pet emergency clinic.
