When you walk your dog, the movement or jarring during a walk can cause stones to scrape against the bladder wall, resulting in increased bleeding. Struvite stones are often caused by chronic urinary tract infections. I suggest bringing a urine sample to your veterinarian to see if your dog has a UTI. We do provide a Bladder Stone Support Package that includes a cell salt called Nat Phos #10 that is an acid balancer and works synergistically with our Antilithic remedy to help support the health of the urinary tract. Since struvite stones form in more alkaline urine, our Cranberry Powder would be a good addition to your dog's protocol. If your dog does have an infection you can try our UTI Relief remedy (along with the Cranberry Powder) for two weeks to see if you can avoid the use of antibiotics. However, antibiotics may be needed if the UTI Relief doesn't clear up the infection. How do you know if the infection (if there is one) is cleared up? Use Urine pH Test Strips and you will see the urine pH come down to a normal range of 6.5 - 7.0.
