Please watch our educational video on Degenerative Myelopathy in Dogs and follow the instructions in the video for folding your dog's rear paw under and seeing how he responds. This will give you a good idea if your dog has an issue with nerve impulses from the brain to the rear end. Unfortunately, a herniated disc may mimic DM in that spinal cord compression could impact the nerves controlling the rear end of a dog. If you have an experienced canine chiropractor in your area this would be helpful to potentially relieve a possible compressed nerve. If your dog has degenerative myelopathy the Myelin Sheath alone would not be comprehensive care and instead the DM Support Package would be needed. I would also consider the Bovine Cartilage to help support your dog's connective tissue in the spine.
