I have an unopened bottle of F3+ that says it expired July 2025. Is it unsafe to consume or just less effective?
BioPreparation F2 F3 for Dogs and Cats
Bottle is unopened and has lived in the refrigerator. I would like to start giving it to my dog if it is safe.

Supplement expiration dates reflect the day up to when a manufacturer can guarantee the supplement's full strength and safety. Storing the Biopreparation F3 supplement in a sealed container in the refrigerator would extend the protection of its nutrients. In addition, the microalgae in this supplement are freeze-dried which is a method of preservation that protect the nutrients for a long time. Oxygen, light, humidity, and temperature can affect vitamin shelf life and the supplement having been kept in a sealed container in the refrigerator would extend the beneficial life of the nutrients it contains. To sum all this up, yes I feel the Biopreparation is just fine to use for your dog.
