We make sure to obtain our organ/glandular tissue from New Zealand because this country has never had a case of Bovine Spongiform Encephalopathy (BSE/Mad Cow Disease) that is believed to be caused by prions (abnormal proteins). New Zealand has strict import controls on live animals, beef, and animal feeds to prevent the introduction of BSE into the country. New Zealand also has a complete ban on feeding any ruminant protein (from cattle, sheep, goats, or deer) to ruminant animals. To make sure that any potential introduction of BSE is detected promptly, New Zealand runs a targeted testing & surveillance program to quickly detect any signs of BSE. To clarify, the brain glandular contained in our Myelin Sheath supplement is safe and tested to be free of BSE.
