Both Lion's Mane Mushroom and the medication Doxepin® can increase the levels of serotonin in the brain. I would only use both at the same time if this was discussed with your veterinarian and the dosage of the Doxepin® was monitored as it may have to be adjusted lower when using a supplement that can increase serotonin like Lion's Mane Mushroom. From experience, we have found that our approach to a dog's laryngeal paralysis, which is supporting their neuromuscular system with supplementation, has been more effective than an antidepressant medication, although any changes to a medication should be discussed with your veterinarian.
