I think you may have gotten a little confused with our herbal remedies. Our Adrenal Calm is recommended to support a dog with Cushing's Disease and it does not contain licorice root. I think you may have confused it with our Adrenal Tonic. You may also wish to consider our Heart Support Package to support his heart health so his murmur doesn't progress too quickly. As far as his teeth you can use our Gum Rescue to apply to certain areas on his gums that are inflamed. It would be a good idea to use our Daily Oral Care sprinkled over his food to provide beneficial oral bacteria to help create a healthier environment in his mouth. One of the most important things that you can do for oral health in dogs and cats is to avoid commercial kibble pet foods. This is because these foods are typically very high in carbohydrates that collect between teeth, produce sugars and feed oral pathogenic species of bacteria that cause tooth decay and gum disease. Feeding a healthy, whole food diet will go a long way in improving the health of your dog's mouth and we provide suggestions in our article How to Feed Your Dog. This diet can be homemade, a prepared cooked diet or a premix to which you add your own meat. I lean towards cooked meat, instead of raw, because of your dog's health concerns. You may also wish to view our educational video called Oral Health in Dogs and Cats to learn more about this all too common pet health issue.
