Our Vitality Blend for dogs and cats contains organic chia seeds as part of its formula. Just wetting the powder as we suggest, when mixing into your dog or cat's food will be sufficient to wet the chia seeds sufficiently. The reason that it is suggested to soak chia seeds before ingesting them is so they can expand before swallowing. The concern is if a significant amount of chia seeds are swallowed and they weren't soaked beforehand they will expand in the esophagus or the intestinal tract once they contact liquid and form a blockage. This is not a concern with the relatively modest amount of chia seeds in our Vitality Blend recipe.
