Your veterinarian is correct in the respect that overusing licorice root for an extended period of time can be potentially troublesome for those animals with hypertension. To alleviate your concern, our Stomach Soother does not provide large amounts of licorice root so it is fine to use daily, and hypertension (high blood pressure) is not a common condition in our domestic animals. While our Stomach Soother is great to help alleviate your dog's nausea, we would like to address the underlying cause so this is not a lifelong chronic condition. From what you describe it sounds like your dog has bilious vomiting syndrome which is a set of symptoms linked to an empty stomach and related nausea and vomiting.
