Yes, the Nerve Tonic and our Myelin Sheath can both be helpful for neuropathy. Neuropathy is nerve damage that disrupts communication between the central nervous system and often expresses as degenerative myelopathy in dogs. To test for this condition turn one of your dog's rear paws under so the top of the paw is on the ground. He should turn this to the correct standing position immediately. If he doesn't do this and seems not to realize his paw is turned under then he most likely has a myelopathy or degenerative myelopathy. We provide an educational video on Degenerative Myelopathy in Dogs so you can learn more about this condition with supplement recommendations at the end of the video. A dog with this condition does not have any pain so the Meloxicam® will not help and while having numerous gastrointestinal issues can also cause dizziness that can make your dog more wobbly - not good for a dog with DM. On the other hand neuralgia is nerve pain due to damaged/irritated nerves and the Nerve Tonic and Myelin Sheath can also help with this condition as they support nerve health. If your dog does have some joint pain, which is possible, you can consider adding in our Elk Velvet Antler to provide nutrients to support his joint health and reduce inflammation.
