Our Internal Flea and Tick Powder is a yeast-free formula that helps to promote and strengthen the body's resistance to parasites like fleas, ticks and other biting insects. We avoid the use of yeast in the Internal Powder because of issues so many dogs and cats have with that ingredient and instead rely on organic garlic and herbs that are high in thiamine (B1) and pyridoxine (B6) that act as natural insect control. The B vitamins - thiamine (B1) and pyridoxine (B6) - are the ingredients in yeast that provide the primary insect repellency. We replicate that action with the organic herbs found in this formula.
Formulated by a certified Master Herbalist, with USDA organic herbs, the ingredients in our Internal Powder have been shown to be effective natural insect controls and will also help to strengthen the skin, cleanse the blood, provide valuable nutrients and alkalize the system. This formula will help to promote a dog or cat with healthier blood and skin that has a taste biting insects dislike. Our Internal Flea and Tick Powder will help prevent the itching and inflammation associated with flea and other insect bites in a natural and safe way.
What to Look for in a Superior Flea and Tick Powder:
✓ Whole Food Ingredients
Our dogs and cats utilize nutrients much more easily from whole foods. Their bodies easily recognize the food, break it down and then metabolize the nutrients. This is in direct contrast to synthetic ingredients found in most other supplements that the body does not easily recognize and require more energy to utilize. This is especially hard on the liver and kidneys and a majority of the synthetic substances wind up being eliminated in the urine. In addition, synthetic vitamins and minerals can have more of a drug effect on the body, which is why toxicity issues can result from their misuse.
✓ Organic Ingredients
Our formula contains certified USDA organic herbs. Research shows organic herbs have higher amounts of important nutrients as opposed to conventionally raised plants. Organic farming methods are also better for the environment and of course do not have the levels of residual pesticides that conventionally grown herbs can have. We also do not use wild crafted herbs in our formulas as this practice can damage wild populations of herbs and you do not necessarily know where the herbs are coming from or have been grown. Instead, we prefer to be on the safe side and only obtain herbs from USDA certified organic farms.
✓ No Unhealthy Additives
Our formula is made with all-natural, whole food ingredients. Absent are the fillers that increase packaging bulk and "flow agents" that make manufacturing faster and easier. Ingredients we avoid, but many of our competitors do not, include lactose, magnesium stearate, maltodextrin, stearic acid, calcium stearate, scorbyl palmitate, silicon dioxide, and microcrystalline cellulose among others.
✓ Uses only Human Grade Ingredients
Our products are manufactured using human grade ingredients. In the pet industry this is far from the rule as many companies use pet quality ingredients, those considered "not fit for human consumption".
✓ Uses Fresh, High Quality Ingredients
We purchase our ingredients from some of the most highly regarded companies in their respective fields so you and your animals are ensured the finest quality supplements. In addition, we purchase in small quantities to make sure the products we provide to you are fresh and bursting with important nutrients. This is in direct contrast to many other products on the market that can spend a year or longer sitting in non-climate controlled warehouses before they even get to you.
A proprietary blend of USDA organic herbs: Alfalfa leaf (Medicago sativa), Nettle leaf (Urtica dioica), Burdock root (Arctium lappa), Oatstraw (Avena sativa), Barley grass juice powder (Hordeum vulgare), Garlic (Allium sativum) and Rosemary leaf (Rosmarinus officinalis).
About the Organic Herbs in this Formula
Alfalfa Leaf - A good source of minerals that help to alkalize the system. High in chlorophyll that cleanses the blood and a good source of thiamine (B1) and pyridoxine (B6) as well.
Nettle Leaf - A very nutritious herb rich in chlorophyll that makes it a wonderful blood cleanser and alkalizer.
Burdock Root - One of the best blood purifiers, this herb is also a good source of pyridoxine (B6). The inulin found in this root helps to reduce blood sugar levels making your animal less attractive to biting insects.
Oatstraw - Another nutritious, alkalizing herb that is a wonderful source of thiamine (B1) and pyridoxine (B6).
Barley Grass Juice Powder - One of the most nutritious foods on the planet! This plant is very alkalizing and the high chlorophyll content strengthens and cleanses the blood. A great choice to increase your dog or cat's resistance to parasites.
Garlic - The sulphur constituents act as a well known insect repellent and help to give the blood a taste biting insects avoid. It is also a very good source of pyridoxine (B6). The health concerns promoted online by some are quite misunderstood, and while garlic should be used cautiously in young animals and those with certain conditions like anemia, the health benefits of this plant are quite amazing. We have used garlic for all of our animals for almost three decades now without a single issue and we recommend it confidently to our clients when used in recommended dosages.
Rosemary Leaf - A prized insect repelling herb and a very good source of B vitamins, especially pyridoxine (B6).
Provide one teaspoon daily per 40 lbs. Mix with a little water before adding to meal, or when in food dish, and then blend into food well. Mix with special treat or food if necessary.
You may double dosage for short periods during peak months or when needed. You may wish to work up to the larger dosage as your animal adjusts.
Important: As a general rule of thumb you should not include garlic in the diet of a puppy that is under 8 weeks of age and use with caution up until 6 months of age. This is because new red blood cells do not begin to be produced until after 6-8 weeks. Use with caution in cats because they can be more sensitive. Discontinue use if signs of digestive upset or behavioral changes occur. Use with caution in those on blood thinning medications or suffer with anemic conditions.
Storage: Store at room temperature away from heat and moisture.
