The mission of Best Friends Animal Society is to bring about a time when there are No More Homeless Pets. They do this by helping to end the killing in America's animal shelters through building community programs and partnerships all across the nation. They believe that by working together we can Save Them All. Best Friends is the leader of the no-kill movement. They run the largest no-kill shelter in the country, operating out of Angel Canyon in Kanab, Utah. The spirit, integrity and effectiveness of this organization is par excellent.

The fund was started by author Cleveland Amory whose inspiration came from the novel Black Beauty. His dream turned into reality with the purchase of Black Beauty Ranch in Texas. The sign at the gate reads: "Here my story ends. My troubles are over and I am at Home". All the animals at Black Beauty Ranch have a home there for the rest of their lives. In addition the Fund has other facilities as well as a wonderful program "Rural Area Veterinary Services" were veterinarians provide Free spay/neuter services as well as care for wounded and sick animals. In addition The Fund has teamed up with The Humane Society of the United States in Washington. Alley Cat Allies has led the fight for Trap Neuter Return (TNR), which is an effective population control solution for feral cat colonies. They have offered guidance and expertise to people all over the country who are feeding and caring for feral cats. They fund and organize spay neuter clinics and provide knowledgeable help and solutions for communities with feral cat problems. Learn more at www.alleycat.org

We have included HFA because while we promote the feeding of meat to our carnivorous companion animals we feel that all animals have a right to live free of fear and abuse while they are here. To this ends HFA works to end the abuses of factory farming by conducting anti-cruelty investigations and expose´ and through national media and ad campaigns They also operate the worlds largest farm animal sanctuary which provides a refuge for abused farm animals.
